Sweeping Administrative Overhaul in Uttarakhand: 11 Senior Officers Reassigned

The Uttarakhand administration has implemented a comprehensive bureaucratic reorganization throughout the state. Eleven officers spanning the IAS, PCS, and Secretariat cadres have been transferred to fresh postings. The directives were released by Joint Secretary (Personnel) Rajendra Singh Patiyal late Wednesday evening.

Fresh Leadership in Rudraprayag District

The centerpiece of this administrative shake-up involves Rudraprayag district, where IAS officer Vishal Mishra takes over as the new District Magistrate. His predecessor, Pratik Jain, transitions to a dual role as Managing Director of the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam alongside his appointment as Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Reshuffling of Senior IAS Positions

In a notable move, IAS officer Sanjay Kumar has been divested of his responsibilities as Director of Employment, while retaining his remaining portfolios. Meanwhile, Saurabh Gairwar assumes charge as Additional Secretary for Industries, concurrently heading the Government Press at Roorkee.

Narendra Singh Bhandari shoulders a twin mandate as Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Development Board while simultaneously taking over as Director of Employment. Vinod Giri Goswami steps into the role of Additional Secretary (Housing) and assumes leadership of the Bhagirathi River Valley Development Authority as its Chief Executive Officer.

Realignment within PCS and Secretariat Ranks

PCS officer Girdhari Singh Rawat has been elevated to Additional Secretary for Minority Welfare, with concurrent appointments as Director of Minority Welfare and the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board.

Within the Secretariat service, Suresh Joshi takes up the mantle of Additional Secretary for Census operations, while Kavindra Singh moves to the Implementation Department as Additional Secretary. PCS officer Abja Prasad Vajpayee assumes magisterial duties in Haldwani as City Magistrate, and Trilok Singh Martolia receives additional charge as Principal Manager of the Kichha Sugar Mill.

Deputation Concluded, Fresh Assignment Follows

PCS officer Kamlesh Mehta’s deputation stint with the State Election Commission has been brought to a close. He now reports to Tehri Garhwal district, where he has been designated as Deputy Collector.

The state administration has mandated that all transferred officers take charge of their new responsibilities without delay, effective immediately.
