Tibetan Market Murder: Police Unravel Chilling Family Conspiracy in Arjun Sharma Case
Dehradun police have cracked the murder case of businessman and tennis player Arjun Sharma, who was killed outside Tibetan Market, revealing a sinister plot hatched by his own family. SSP Ajay Singh disclosed in a press conference that a dispute over repaying loans taken for a gas agency allotted under the martyr quota scheme had triggered the deadly conspiracy.
Murder Plot Crafted 25 Days in Advance
The investigation has brought to light disturbing details. According to police, the conspiracy was meticulously planned nearly 25 days before execution. Arjun’s mother Beena Sharma, along with her associate Vinod Uniyal and Dr. Ajay Khanna, hatched the murder plot as early as January. The trio then initiated the search for contract killers, which eventually led them to Pankaj, who worked as Vinod Uniyal’s driver.
₹12 Lakh Contract and a Convicted Killer
Investigations revealed that Pankaj Rana accepted a ₹12 lakh contract to carry out the assassination. To execute the crime, Pankaj recruited his brother Rajeev alias Raju, who has a dark past—he had murdered his stepfather in 1997 and served four to five years in prison before being released.
Mother Conducted Reconnaissance Like a Seasoned Criminal
The police probe has uncovered that Beena Sharma conducted surveillance on her own son with calculated precision. She gathered intelligence about Arjun’s daily routine, his movements, timings, and whereabouts from the manager of Amardeep Gas Agency.
Due to ongoing disputes with his mother, Arjun Sharma had been living separately with his family in a rented accommodation in Indira Nagar. This separation meant his mother lacked direct knowledge of his activities and movements, necessitating the reconnaissance. After days of meticulous preparation and planning, the assassination was finally executed.
Digital Trail Exposes the Conspiracy
During the course of investigation, detectives uncovered crucial evidence: accused Pankaj Rana had communicated with Vinod Uniyal via WhatsApp both before and after the crime. This digital footprint has provided investigators with concrete evidence linking the conspirators to the murder plot, helping piece together the complete sequence of events in this shocking case of familial betrayal.
