A deeply disturbing incident has shaken the city of Rudrapur, where a woman was abducted at gunpoint and gang-raped while she was on her way home from the Saras fair. The crime unfolded in the dead of night on February 22, when three men on motorcycles intercepted her, brandished a weapon, and dragged her away.
The victim recounts a harrowing ordeal — the accused took her to a secluded spot near Modi Maidan, under the Kotwali police jurisdiction, where all three men assaulted her. As if the violence was not enough, they also filmed the act and held it over her head as a threat, warning her they would circulate the video if she spoke out.
The woman, despite the trauma, came forward and filed a complaint. Police have since registered a case and ensured she received a medical examination. CO City Prashant Kumar confirmed that a forensic team has been deployed at the scene to gather evidence. Multiple raids are currently underway to track down and arrest the accused.
Authorities have assured that no leniency will be shown and that those responsible will face the full weight of the law.
